Insurance Fraud

Insurance companies are evil. Just plain evil.
About a year ago my oncologist prescribed a medication for me to take to help balance my body's chemistry after a year's worth of chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant.

The insurance companies made us jump through hoops and eventually they wore me down and I gave up. I just plain gave up trying to fill the prescription.

Last week I had a check-up with my oncologist and again he prescribed the medication. My numbers are low. I need it.

I explained to him the situation and he said we'd work through it.

My wife called the insurance company with the prescription in hand and we weren't supposed to have any issues.

I went to the pharmacy on Saturday and sure enough, the medication was on hold until the insurance company received "proper verification" from the doctor.

Isn't that what the prescription is? It's a verification from the doctor that the patient requires the prescribed medicine.

This is ridiculous.

Sadly, none of our presidential candidates has addressed our corrupt insurance industry. You want to help middle Americans, let's start in that ballpark.
