Day 2: Boredom, Bloating and Beeping

Day 2 of my adventure in CAR-T therapy was rather uneventful, short of receiving my first dose of chemotherapy.

Day 1: Déjà vu

Day 1 of summer camp, also known as CAR-T therapy got off to a familiar start.

And so it begins...

Tomorrow starts my journey through CAR-T therapy in the hopes of once again putting my Mantle Cell Lymphoma (MCL) into remission and even possibly curing me of the disease.

Full Steam Ahead!

Today, Paulette and I met at University Hospital's Seidman Cancer Center downtown with my transplant team: Dr. Boughan and Dr. Kapoor and Ann Verde, who is my transplant coordinator. We followed that up with a visit to UH Geauga for what should be my final dose of chemotherapy before the real fun starts in 10 days.

Day 1 is behind me

Steve vs. MCL II officially got underway on Friday with a round of chemotherapy at University Hospitals' Geauga branch of the Seidman Cancer Center.

Insidious or not, I want my soul back

Insidious, an adjective, or a 2011 horror flick. Either way, I can't shake the word from my brain.

Is 70-percent Greater Than X?

Admittedly, I often struggle with math but the equation I was presented with today is bound to stump even the mathematical genius.

Here I go again

Last week, I had both a PET Scan and a surgical biopsy to determine the extent of my cancer relapse. Today, we met with Dr. Friedman to get the results and to plan the course of action regarding treatment.

So long remission

I wasn't going to say anything until next week when we had more details but for Paulette Hare's sake, I'll go ahead and let everyone know so she doesn't have to field any more phone calls as word starts to spread.

After almost 10 years, my remission is over.
