For a while I felt that Facebook was an appropriate place to share my thoughts. Unfortunately, I've been shamed into the reality that only baseball and football posts and baby pictures and bragging about my child's sports successes are the only appropriate postings for Facebook.
When it comes to politics and other important topics, those are best left without discussion. People don't want to be bothered with that boring stuff. It's too controversial. They'd rather share the stupid, ignorant and fact-challenged memes that fit their own perception of reality.
And that's how we end up in an election with Hillary Clinton leading Donald Trump in most major polls.
First, the race shouldn't be close. Trump is a despicable human being and having him represent a major party is an insult to all Americans. It's a shame the Republican Party lost its way but that's what happens when policy and fiscal conservatism have taken a backseat to greed and hate. Republicans spent the last eight years finding ways to discredit Obama and Hillary Clinton and they're left with Donald Trump to carry their banner.
Anyway, I was driving through Chardon today and noticed this truck:
She wasn't exactly honest with regards to her emails but that's an issue that is way overblown for political reasons.
Clinton isn't my top choice to hold our nation's highest office and she isn't among the top 10 either.
But, she is the ONLY choice when Nov. 8 rolls around.
These people driving this truck around town are morons.
If Hillary Clinton is corrupt, what is Donald Trump?
“I was a businessman,” Trump admitted at a debate earlier this year. “I give to everybody. When they call, I give. You know what? When I need something from them, two years later, three years later, I call them, and they are there for me. . . . And that’s a broken system.”
Yes, it's a broken system and Donald Trump isn't the guy to fix it. He is the problem. Big business paying off our politicians to get what they want. That includes Hillary Clinton...and every other politicians.
We need to fix the system. That starts with soundly defeating Donald Trump on Nov. 8 and then, wait for it, becoming more educated in our own politics.
We have to pay attention and become more educated. C-SPAN is there for a reason. Bills and other proposed legislation are available online and accessible by the general public.
How about this, in between innings of the World Series you visit one of the .GOV web sites and learn something. That way, you want be so annoyed by those pesky political posts you see on Facebook.
That's enough for today. I've got to go back to Facebook to talk about baseball or another acceptable topic.
