Amelia Earhart mystery close to being solved?

A partial skeleton found on an uninhabited Pacific Island in 1940 could solve the mystery of Amelia Earhart's disappearance.

This summer the family made a stop at the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum and my daughter was very interested in seeing the Amelia Earhart exhibition as they had learned about the famed pilot in school that spring.

Today, I read a story that indicates a partial skeleton found on an uninhabited Pacific Island in 1940 could put an end to they mystery surrounding Earhart's disappearance.

According to NBC News:
"Researchers with the International Group for Historic Aircraft Recovery, or TIGHAR, which runs the project, have found similarities between the famed pilot and the partial skeleton of a castaway discovered on an uninhabited Pacific island in 1940.
"Using modern techniques, forensic anthropologists and imaging experts compared measurements of the arm bones in the castaway's skeleton to a historical photo of Earhart and discovered that their measurements were 'virtually identical.'"
