NPR Tiny Desk Concerts: Meg Myers
I'm a big fan of musical artists who perform with passion and intensity. In addition to hearing the lyrics, I want to feel them. I want to be moved by the song. Meg Myers checks off all the boxes for me.

Day 20: Paulette for the assist
For the past 10 days or so, I had written about the importance of my neutrophil count reaching 500. My team of doctors had indicated that was the magic number to send me home...until it wasn't.

Day 19: The Countdown
Day 19 went as well as the previous 18 but I endured plenty of anxiety as I waited to see if my Absolute Neutrophil Count would jump from 310 to the minimum of 500 to get discharged.

Day 12: Halfway Point?
Father's Day fell on the 12th day of my hospital stay. It also marked what could be the midpoint of my extended visit.

Book Review: Hollywood
![Hollywood](https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1361998529m/38505.jpg)
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
"Hollywood" provides an interesting parallel between fact and fiction.
The book tells the tale of how Henry Chinaski's screenplay became the movie, "The Dance of Jim Beam." In reality, Charles Bukowski wrote the screenplay for the movie, "Barfly," starring Mickey Rourke and Faye Dunaway.
Day 10: Boredom Sets In
Fortunately, the most I can say about Day 10 is boredom is winning out. As much as I tried to prepare for that aspect of hospitalization, it's just hard to fill every minute of every day with something to keep my mind off the confinement.

Day 9: Date Night
In the hospital, you've got to go to great lengths to keep the mind active. To break up the monotony, Paulette and I set up date night on Thursday.

Day 7: Key Decision Made
I've wrestled with a lot of thoughts and decisions since being admitted to the hospital eight days ago.

Day 6: No time for reflection
Yesterday I wrote of the hopes and dreams and sorrows experienced on Seidman 3. Today, my thoughts are in the same place, only with a different perspective.

Day 3: The ups and downs of hospitalization
The title of this blog post is a bit misleading. There really are no "ups" of hospitalization but I take little wins when I can get them.

Day 2: Boredom, Bloating and Beeping
Day 2 of my adventure in CAR-T therapy was rather uneventful, short of receiving my first dose of chemotherapy.
